About
Alt Audit finds images with missing or empty alt text on a normal http(s) page. Chrome://, the Web Store, and other restricted pages are skipped. Free tools stay in this browser — no ExtHub account. Image URLs, pixels, and page HTML are not uploaded.
Scan images on this page (auto-scan when the popup opens), or Pause all. Filters: Missing and Empty (keep at least one on). Skip tiny icons under 48 px. Highlight issues and clear highlights; click a row to focus it on the page. Local scan reports (host and issue counts — not image URLs) and an action log (host and tool — not page HTML). Up to 12 reports and 20 log rows locally.
Pro syncs scan reports, filter prefs, and the audit log to ExtHub (hosts and counts only — not image URLs, pixels, or page HTML). Skip decorative images, Aria-label OK, extra sources SVG and Input, copy srcs (clipboard stays in this browser), JSON export/import, and higher caps (50 reports / 80 log rows). Search and CSV/JSON export are on the ExtHub My data page. Unsigned installs still send a compact connectivity ping.
